The European and Developing Countries Clinical Trials Partnership (EDCTP) is a public-public partnership between European and sub-Saharan African countries. It is intended to support collaborative research projects that accelerate the development of new or improved clinical interventions for the prevention or treatment of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria or other emerging or re-emerging poverty-related infectious diseases (including neglected infectious diseases) in sub-Saharan Africa.
ANRS MIE is heavily involved in defining the partnership’s purposes, as well as in its implementation. Alongside the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, the agency participates in the EDCTP General Assembly, acting as a link between all French research institutions.
