Coordinated Action on Viral Hepatitis (AC45)

Last updated on 04 March 2026

Main points

The Coordinated Action on Viral Hepatitis (CA45) was established in 2023. Its objective is to coordinate clinical and therapeutic research on hepatitis B, D and other viral hepatitis.

It is structured around four working groups dealing with issues identified as research priorities. The main themes are prevention, screening, access to care, treatment of hepatitis B and D, natural history and hepatic comorbidities, and specificities in lowand middleincome countries.

AC45 is committed to crossdisciplinary work with other coordinated actions of ANRS MIE.

Objectives of the Coordinated Action

CA45’s activity is structured around two main areas: scientific coordination and project support.

To this end, it has set itself four objectives:

  • scientific coordination in the fields of clinical and translational research and human and social sciences on viral hepatitis and its comorbidities, in France and internationally;
  • the development of collaborations and the creation of working groups on research priorities;
  • support for researchers in the design and development of projects for submission to calls for projects from ANRS MIE or other national and international funding bodies;
  • and the scientific promotion of research in the form of symposiums, conferences and publications.
