Quality approach

The agency inherits a quality approach that structures the measures taken to ensure the protection of individuals involved in the research it supports and the integrity of its results. It continues to develop this approach while taking into account the growth of its activities, which, since 1 January 2021, have expanded to include emerging infectious diseases.

Research funding

Calls for projects constitute the agency’s main mechanism for funding research projects. In this regard, it is essential to optimise the allocation of resources to ensure that research is carried out as efficiently as possible. To this end, the agency plans to implement new organisational practices aimed at saving time and increasing efficiency, and intends to have the related processes certified.

Research coordination

One of the agency’s core competencies lies in its ability to prepare research during inter-crisis periods and to respond effectively when a crisis occurs. Consequently, the quality approach includes the implementation of a specific risk management plan.

Research oversight

Building on the pre-existing elements of the agency’s quality approach, several key areas have been identified, starting with the continuous training of staff on the regulatory requirements governing research activities.

Moreover, a comprehensive initiative on the management of biological resources generated by research supported by the agency has been launched at various levels. This work specifically addresses the valorisation of resources and the establishment of an appropriate monitoring system for their management.
