Data and samples

The agency has made open research data one of its priorities, in line with France’s commitments and the National Plan for Open Science (PNSO) launched by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation.

The objective is to ensure that data produced by French public research are progressively structured in accordance with the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Reusable), preserved and, whenever possible, made openly available to foster innovation.

While these measures are legitimate, they require significant changes in practices and even, in some cases, a genuine paradigm shift.

Against this backdrop, ANRS Emerging Infectious Diseases has initiated an initial transition phase towards this objective, with the gradual implementation of dedicated tools and support for researchers.

As part of its mission to promote clinical research, the agency already facilitates access to data and biological collections generated through the research studies it supports and conducts, and participates in large-scale national initiatives such as France Cohortes.
