Application selection phase (4 November 2026 - 18 January 2027) - Administrative finalisation phase (11 March 2027 - 11 May 2027)
Last updated on 29 October 2026
ANRS MIE has made supporting the next generation of scientists a strategic priority, mobilising resources and implementing specific initiatives to encourage their involvement and development in its research fields. The Start Programme encompasses all initiatives specifically aimed at early-career researchers.
Within this framework, the “Master’s grants – International Network” 2027 call for applications aims to award grants contributing towards funding one year of a Master 1, Master 2 or specialised master’s programme (MS). It is aimed at professionals and students from LMICs who work or wish to work on the agency’s research topics and in collaboration with International Network partners.
It aims to provide successful applicants with opportunities to pursue a career in research in close collaboration with partners in the ANRS MIE International Network (Partner Sites and PRISME – International Research Platforms in Global Health).
Applications are expected from professionals and students already involved in the research activities of a Partner Site/PRISME within the ANRS MIE International Network, or who wish to begin a new collaboration with these partners.
Applicants must select an internship opportunity from those offered by the Partner Sites and PRISME within the International Network (see “Download the internship opportunities”). For the 2027 call, internship opportunities are offered through collaborations with the following partner countries:
The “Master’s grants – International Network” call for applications takes place in two stages.
Each applicant presents their background and the master’s programme(s) they are considering, and selects an internship opportunity offered by a Partner Site/PRISME within the ANRS MIE International Network from the list provided.

One applicant will be selected for each internship opportunity and invited to submit a complete application (administrative finalisation phase).
The results of the application selection phase will be announced by 11 March 2027 at the latest.
Access the Apogée platformEach applicant selected by ANRS MIE for a grant during the application selection phase submits a complete application in coordination with their internship supervisor(s), including the budget, details of the intended master’s programme(s) and the internship programme.
Selection for an ANRS MIE grant does not constitute admission to a master’s programme. Admission is determined exclusively by the educational institutions, according to their selection criteria. Successful applicants must therefore apply to and be admitted to their chosen master’s programme to receive the grant.
Information concerning master’s programmes and/or internships taking place in a country or territory other than the applicant’s place of residence: Each applicant is responsible for finding out about and following the administrative procedures required to travel to the country or territory concerned. If the authorisations required to travel to the country or territory where the master’s programme and/or internship takes place are not obtained, ANRS MIE will be unable to award a grant. For master’s programmes in France, applicants are particularly advised to consult the Études en France platform and the Campus France website for their country or territory of residence. Each country or territory has its own application timetable for programmes “connected” to the Études en France scheme and for visa applications.
