2025 joint thesis prizes
These awards recognise contributions in several areas of virology:
- Dominique Dormont’ Prize: dedicated to basic and translational research on HIV, with the winners selected by the “Host-virus interactions: basic and translational research on HIV” coordinated action (AC 41) of ANRS MIE;
- Prize for basic research on viral hepatitis: the laureates are selected by the ‘Basic and translational research on viral hepatitis’ coordinated action (AC 42) of ANRS MIE;
- Prize for basic research on emerging and re-emerging viruses: awarded jointly by SFV and ANRS MIE.
Timetable and how to apply
The thesis prizes are open to young doctors in the basic sciences who gained a French university thesis diploma (PhD) in 2025.
The deadline for applications for the ‘Dominique Dormont’ prize, the prize for basic research into viral hepatitis and the prize for basic research into emerging and re-emerging viruses is 16 February 2026.

2025 Work in progress of the ‘Host-HIV interactions’ coordinated action
The annual event of coordinated action 41 ‘Host-HIV interactions, basic and translational research’ will be held on 25 March 2025 at the Institut Pasteur in Paris.
