  • Dates: 5 to 7 November 2026
  • Venue: The Manhattan Hotel, Makuhari, Chiba, Japan

The 4th France-Japan Symposium on Basic and Translational Research on HIV/AIDS and Infectious Diseases, jointly organised by the Japan Institute for Health Security (JIHS), the National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) and the coordinated action ‘Host-Virus Interactions: Basic and Translational Research on HIV ’ (AC41) of the ANRS Emerging Infectious Diseases (ANRS MIE), will take place from 5 to 7 November 2026 at The Manhattan Hotel, Makuhari, Chiba, Japan.

This symposium will bring together French and Japanese researchers to discuss recent advances in research on HIV and infectious diseases, with a programme focusing in particular on virus-cell interactions, innate immunity, host responses and new therapeutic approaches.

The programme will include several scientific sessions, as well as a session dedicated to early-career researchers, offering them the opportunity to present their work and foster exchanges with researchers from both countries.

A session will also be devoted to France-Japan collaborations, with the aim of highlighting existing collaborations and encouraging the development of new joint projects.

Finally, the symposium will feature opportunities for discussion and individual meetings (one–to–one meetings) to encourage dialogue and future collaborations.
