In May 2022, following the occurrence of an epidemic of mpox outside endemic areas, the agency activated a level 2 Outbreak Response unit.
In this context, the agency :
- initiated a review of the literature and scientific news ;
- organised the definition of research priorities in conjunction with a group of experts and associations;
- mobilised exceptional funding to set up ad hoc studies and launch a flash call for projects.
