02 March 2026
On March 2nd 2025, the ANRS Emerging Infectious Diseases (ANRS MIE) will gather and present research projects selected for the Priority Research Programme and Equipment for Emerging Infectious Diseases (PEPR MIE) and funded by the General Secretariat for Investment (SGPI) through the France 2030 plan.
PEPR MIE, which concerns the prevention and control of emerging infectious diseases, is led by ANRS MIE in collaboration with its various French academic partners. It has been deployed through three annual call for proposals in 2023, 2024 and 2025.
In order to meet the objectives, ANRS MIE has developed a strategy to fund, facilitate and coordinate research according to the following 3 components: accelerating the acquisition of knowledge about EIM ; organising and developing new treatments, vaccines and other prevention, diagnostic and surveillance tools for EIMs ; and enabling public policies and society to deal with epidemic crises.
The PEPR MIE has been assigned €70 million in funding by France 2030. Each call aims to fund projects through two to three years with a minimum financial support of 1 M€ for components 1 and 2. Component 3 has no minimum amount attached to it.
Eleven projects have been selected after the first call for proposals in 2023. Nine others in 2024. The remaining budget allocated to the final call in 2025 amounts to 16 M€.
