For the fourth consecutive year, ANRS MIE is launching its call for projects ‘Emergences PRFI’, aimed at supporting collaborative research projects between French teams and research teams based in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
This call targets projects focusing on emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, including:
It encourages scientific collaborations aimed at generating new knowledge and having an impact on health and infectious disease issues of interest to LMICs, with projects that may cover areas of fundamental, translational, clinical, public health, and social sciences research.
This call is open to scientific collaborations that must include both a research team based in France and a research team from a low- or middle-income country, acting as co-leaders of a research project. Other French or foreign research teams may also be involved in the project as partners.
Eligible for this call are full research projects, with or without funding for a PhD student or postdoctoral researcher.
The maximum duration of the projects is 36 months.
Individual and nominative research grants not linked to a specific project (for PhD students or postdoctoral researchers) are not eligible for the 2025 ‘Emergences PRFI’ call for proposals. These will be covered by the ‘Fellowship’ call for applications under the ANRS MIE Start program, which will open during the first quarter of 2026.
The submission guidelines and selection criteria for projects under this call are detailed in the call’s official terms and conditions. Submissions must be made via the Apogée platform.
