The “Diagnostic, therapeutic and vaccine viral targets” working group of the ANRS MIE aims to structure interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary research at the interface between virology, medicinal chemistry, vaccinology and bioinformatics, in order to develop tools against epidemic emerging viruses. It focuses on the identification of viral targets to promote advances in the development of diagnostic tools, treatments and vaccines in a context of health crisis preparedness. This research will involve collaboration with players in preclinical development, clinical research and technology and product development.
In a context of epidemic preparedness and response, research advances in terms of viral target identification and rapid availability of scientific data need to be put into practice to enable the development of diagnostic, therapeutic and vaccine tools.
