The essential

The 12th AFRAVIH International Francophone Conference will be held this year in Yaoundé, Cameroon, from 16 to 19 April.
It will bring together French-speaking international players from a variety of disciplines involved in research into and management of HIV, hepatitis, sexual health and emerging infections.

ANRS MIE symposium in collaboration with WHO

The ANRS Emerging Infectious Diseases, which has supported the AFRAVIH congress since its inception, is organising, in collaboration with the WHO, the symposium “Prospects for therapeutic research on HIV/AIDS in Africa”.

It will be moderated by Charles Kouanfack [FMSP/UDs/CREMER/HCY, Cameroon] and Eric Delaporte [IRD, France] and will cover WHO research priorities and guidelines, new HIV treatment strategies in sub-Saharan Africa, and the presentation of studies on children living with HIV. Civil society will also be represented, with a panel of patient association representatives.

The agency will also have a stand with Expertise France. Experts from the Agency’s scientific departments for basic research, clinical research, social and human sciences, public health, innovation, strategy and partnerships, and pharmacovigilance will be available to participants for discussions during the ANRS MIE meetings, the programme of which is as follows:
