As part of the Emerging Infectious Diseases Priority Research Programme and Equipment (PEPR MIE), Measure 2 of the ‘Emerging Infectious Diseases (MIE) and Nuclear, Radiological, Biological and Chemical (MN) Threats’ national acceleration strategy supported by France 2030, the ANRS MIE is launching its first call for applications for Junior Chairs.
This call for applications targets the research sections of the PEPR, namely :
The aim of the Junior Chairs call for applications is to stimulate innovation and scientific development through research proposals, It offers young scientists junior chairs to develop innovative research within the scope of the PEPR MIE, to be funded to a maximum of €1m over a period of 48 months.
The call for applications for Junior Chairs 2025 has an indicative budget of €3m.
The expertise of the applicants and the research proposals submitted must fall within the scope of at least one of the three thematic sections of the PEPR MIE, for which priority areas have been specified. Priority will be given to projects falling within the scope of Measure 2 of the PEPR MIE.
The research proposal must address one or more of the infectious diseases listed as priorities and presenting a high risk of a health crisis in France:
Applications must be submitted via the Apogée platform (‘AAP Flash’ section, ‘AAP Exceptionnel’ sub-section, ‘PEPR MIE – Junior Chairs’ category). The application form available below must be completed and uploaded onto the Apogée platform.
Applications must be written entirely in English (fields to be completed on the Apogée platform and documents to be uploaded – application file, CV, covering letter, letter of recommendation, letter of commitment, budget document, budget justification).
